Gretsch Catalina Maple Drumkit
I bought a new Gretsch Catalina Maple drumkit. There’s not much information in the form of reviews on the internet but suffice it to say that this kit approximates the sound and look of kits costing thousands more. I paid $649 for mine at Drum World. The only things you don’t get relative to the higher end kits are silver sealer and die cast rims. My kit is stock with the following exceptions: Evans Batter heads including power center reverse dot on snare drum, EMAD coated on kick drum, and EC2 on rack and floor toms. Also, grover club dark snare wires. The kit is configured as follows: 22×18 14×6 10×8 12×9 14×14 16×16 I use Paiste cymbals. This video was recorded with my Panasonic FZ5 digital camera. The audio was recorded using a T-stereo mic to minidisc, then converted to wave file. No processing was done on the audio. You’ll find audio of this same drumkit along with my Gretsch 6.5×13 brass/maple free floating snare drum and Paiste Traditional cymbals here: uptown-rb.com
